Scoreless Streak Ends, But Wins Continue

Garrett Niekro's scoreless streak ended at 19 innings in his third start of the season against the Illini. However, after the 1 inning blip, he went on to pitch another 4 scoreless innings in the game to win 13-4. In his next start he pitched 8 innings giving up only 1 run to start the season 4-0. He has only given up runs in only 2 of the 32 innings he has pitched, and leads the league in wins and innings pitched.
